Competitive Picnicking

Competitive picnicking is a large multiplayer game played on a sunny afternoon with food as playing pieces. It was developed in collaboration with Adam Simon, Scott Varland, and Mike Dory of Social Bomb. Players arrive at a picnic with the basic ingredients for lunch and play a culinary variant of Go Fish to assemble the highest-scoring snacks and sandwiches. It is a simple game built around encouraging social interaction—and just a bit of chaos.

Competitive Picnicking was run at the 2008 Come Out and Play Festival in New York City and the 2009 Adelaide Film Festival in Adelaide, Australia.
